Efficiency, accessibility, and an appealing visual design are all characteristics of a successful website. Next, fill your site with relevant and appealing content. Once you have built a site that meets these needs, you can focus on the next step, attracting online users and keeping them on your site. That's where the challenge truly begins.

Websites that never change do not appeal to visitors and are not ranked well on Internet search engines. For this reason it is important to update your site frequently in order to offer something new to visitors on each visit. If you are too busy to research or write new content, try simple things like reposting older, but relevant, articles, or adding new links to videos, articles, blogs, and other websites within the same area of interest. This tells visitors that you know what's going on in your blog or site niche.

The average surfer visits close to three dozen web pages every day. Expecting them to remember the URL link to your website is unreasonable, especially if they are visiting for the first time. You can, however, provide helpful links and options that will make it easier for them to find you when they wish to return.

Put yourself in the shoes of your visitors. What do you think they want from a website? What site features would make you want to return? Think about what would entice your visitors to return. It might be articles with insightful content or relevant discount offers they would appreciate. Sometimes, the perfectly timed contest or promotion will make visitors come back to your site to see what is new, at the same time generating generate new interest in your site. Everybody loves a great offer. By giving your visitors intriguing incentives, you are almost guaranteeing they will come back.

The web is a great resource tool with people scouring it daily for quality information. If, however, you cannot direct a portion of that traffic to your site and keep them coming back, you will not benefit. Relevant, new content is one of the top methods of increasing repeat visits. Simple subscription forms and plug-ins to encourage sharing are also valuable site tools. Last, making your site as attractive as possible, both in appearance and in its offerings, will help make your site as successful as possible.
