Although a four-year education is not normally required for persons wanting to work security guard jobs, there are some basic skills that can be helpful. Since some officers are required to carry a weapon, it would be nice to have some basic weapon training. In addition, most companies will want the individual to have basic first aid and CPR training. Courses in behavioral science can also prove useful.
