Juventus are a house hold name when it comes to world football and have always been a name that struck fear into opposition. They have won more trophies than any other Italian side and have had an array of talented managers not to mention players.

Yet again they are producing an outstanding season and currently sit just 3 points behind league leaders Inter Milan. The man behind the successful run is none other than the Tinkerman himself, Claudio Ranieri.

Ranieri was most notably known for his time at Chelsea, and as his nickname suggested like to 'tinker' with his squad by installing a rotation policy. Things didn't always go to plan and he was openly criticised by both the fans and the press.

Having had brief spells with Valencia and Parma he has been in the Juventus hot seat for a couple of seasons and guided them to a third place finish in his first season after Juventus competed in Serie B as punishment for the now famous match fixing scandal.

The current side is bulging with talent with the likes of Del Piero, Nedved, Camoranesi and Buffon. So it's easy to why Juventus may be favourites for the Scudetto this year, if they can topple Inter. Ranieri though has not displayed too many characteristics of someone that likes to tinker; maybe he has learned his lesson. Realised that if it's not broken then it doesn't need fixing.

Ranieri is taken seriously by the Italian press, and must be respected for the way he has always delivered a professional persona both off and on the football pitch. There are many great things to come I'm sure, but we will always know and love him affectionately as the 'Tinkerman'.
